UPEI Students
Library Services for Knowledge Synthesis Projects
Your Subject Librarian can help with your knowledge synthesis project!
Note: If you are completing a knowledge synthesis project as your thesis, a librarian cannot do the searches for you, but can serve as a guide you through the process through a series of meetings. This can include tracking search changes, databases used, and dates searched were ran, among other things.
Your Subject Librarian Can:
Help you refine your topic.
Show you where to search for other systematic reviews on the same topic.
Topic
Guide you on which databases to choose, from our available resources.
Help you select appropriate keywords and subject headings.
Assist in translating search strategies for different databases.
Searching
Provide resources to help you understand the systematic review process.
Provide resources on the guidance and protocols of systematic reviews.
Storing and organizing results - suggesting software for containing and screening results.
General
Students will be provided up to 10 hours of a Librarian’s time (including meetings, emails, and prep).
Please note: assistance on systematic and scoping reviews is done on a first-come, first-served basis and is dependent on librarian availability.
